SHOW NOTES:

Long time, no happy hour chat! This week on The Everygirl Podcast, we’re rounding up three of our editors, each in various stages of the engagement and marriage process, to talk all things wedding prep and planning. First, Josie asks each editor to share how they met their significant other and where they are in the engagement process. Hailey, the Editorial Assistant at The Everygirl, shares how she met her fiancé and did long distance with him just a few months after they started dating. Kirra, our Senior Graphic Designer, tells the story of how she met her husband in college and how he proposed to her with the ring she inherited from her grandmother. Ashley, the Branded Content Editor at The Everygirl, shares the story of how a short breakup with her boyfriend changed their relationship for the better, and about their first ring shopping experience. From there, the conversation turns to the process of the proposal for each of our editors: if they were involved in the planning, if their significant others surprised them, and more. Josie asks about the complicated process of choosing and planning a bridal party. Kirra and Hailey explain the ways in which they kept the decision of who was in their bridal party simple and stress-free. Ashley, who is not yet engaged but has been in many bridal parties over the past few years, explains some of the different bachelorette parties she has been in, and which she has preferred the most. The team discusses what they think is appropriate for a bride to expect of her bridal party and maid of honor, from the financial responsibility of planning a bachelorette party to emotional support on the big day. Kirra, the only guest who is actually married, tells the story of her bachelorette party and how she planned a relaxing yet fun get-together. Finally, the discussion turns to the massive feat that is planning a wedding. Hailey shares how she’s managing her stress levels as she prepares for her September wedding, and Kirra explains why having a wedding planner is absolutely key for last-minute changes. From vendors to venues, the episode closes with some helpful tips for making big decisions for your happy day.
