SHOW NOTES:

Welcome Lindsay Arnold, former dancer on Dancing With The Stars and founder of The Movement Club, to The Everygirl Podcast! The episode begins with Josie asking Lindsay to share her dancing journey, all the way back to childhood. Lindsay shares how much she has loved the dancing world since she was a very young child, and how she grew up in the ballroom dancing competition scene in Utah. When asked whether competing at such a young age impacted her self-confidence, Lindsay said that receiving feedback on her dancing actually boosted her confidence, because she was so eager to get better. From there, Lindsay pivots to discussing the audition process: she explains what it is like to be cut from an audition solely based on appearance, and how she maintained her wellbeing during challenging audition seasons in Los Angeles during the early parts of her career. Lindsay then shares the story of how she first became involved with Dancing With The Stars. She discusses the crushing experience of being hired as a professional dancer for her very first season on the show, only to be demoted to a background dancer for the following four seasons while she honed her skills. Lindsay and Josie have a conversation about how difficult demotions and challenging moments like those fours seasons in Lindsay’s life can often result in the most growth and learning. Lindsay discusses what it was like to be on television in general, and how she has learned to adapt to multiple different celebrity partners on Dancing With The Stars. Josie asks Lindsay why there are so many rumors about romances between professionals and celebrities on the show. The conversation about Lindsay’s dancing career wraps up with the story of why she decided to leave the show and focus on being a mother. The two discuss motherhood and Lindsay’s changing passions, before turning to her new workout app, The Movement Club. Lindsay reveals that she is going to release a pregnancy workout series, where she films and releases workouts during each trimester of her own pregnancy and post-partum journey. The episode closes with some fun, rapid-fire questions for Lindsay, including her favorite partner she’s ever had on DWTS.
